Pretty much the only benefit of high willpower is the ability to consume Witchwood Bark safely. Willpower has it the worst because for everyone except a mental mutant, its base benefit isn't that great anyway - mental attacks are pretty rare. (I do think that the Willpower confusion-resistance ability could be powerful with witchwood bark, but that can only take you so far.) The problem with Toughness and Willpower skill trees is that they don't have much that scales well with the stats - mostly just resistances, which are only occasionally applicable. Also, Charge and Jump are strength-based, although you don't need a huge amount of it. The axes and cudgel trees aren't terrible, and more importantly both they and the shield tree have abilities that scale with strength (the shield skill that stuns people who attack you is actually really strong if you have sky-high strength.) Pretty much all the Cudgel skills scale powerfully with strength, in particular. also random village chieftains can be insane, as can legendary baboons or snapjaws, don't be afraid to kill off one of your raiders to get a new, better companion, and make sure you keep to less than 7, as the game gets reeeeeally screwy past there.Strength isn't so bad for a variety of reasons. Skills can either be passive or active actions that increase proficiency in various aspects of play, either in battle or increasing reputation with other factions. I recommend Indrix and Wardens Esther, they don't have mutations which can kill you, but can dish out a lot of damage very fast. Make sure to get a lot of reputation with various factions and recruit followers from them. You've now got two companions and a couple levels, now take on red rock, and go from there. Dominate every bookbinder you find and take all their books, give them to the librarian. Go through the early game as usual, get the free levelup from Argyve but don't immediately go into red rock, get the Six Day Stilt quest and go through the desert, find some desert raiders and beguile and proselytize two of them, hook them up with decent gear from the nearby canyons, then make your way to the Stilt. Photosynthetic skin: Easy food source, the extra Regen and quickness is nice too. Light manipulation: Easy light source and decent ranged damage that can't miss. Multiple legs: Allows you to escape from fights easier to allow your companions to deal with it for you. Then take a few others, I usually go with With this you can give your followers mutations, skills, levelups, and you can fine tune their equipment. When the infected player enters a new zone, each mumble mouth infection checks individually whether it has visited the zone before. The infection takes up the infected body slot, preventing items from being equipped to that slot. Its much easier to push DV to sky-high levels, since your agility increases it and there are more DV-boosting skills. My favorite build which I always run is one that amasses an army of followers.
